Blog #12-What are at least three ways to prevent soil erosion?

There are many ways to prevent soil erosion:Planting Vegetation, Matting, Mulch or Fertilizer and even Retaining Walls or Edging.

Blog #11-Describe 3 abiotic factors that could affect biotic potential (population growth) and how they would affect it

Biotic potential is the maximum reproductive capacity of a population if resources are unlimited. Full expression of the biotic potential of an organism is restricted by environmental resistance, any condition that inhibits the increase in number of the population. It is generally only reached when environmental conditions are very favorable. A species reaching its biotic potential would exhibit exponential population growth and be said to have a high fertility, that is, how many offspring are produced per mother.

Blog #10-Describe why sampling is important to the study of populations

Population sampling refers to the process through which a group of representative individuals is selected from a population for the purpose of statistical analysis. Performing population sampling correctly is extremely important, as errors can lead to invalid or misleading data. There are a number of techniques used in population sampling to ensure that the individuals can be used to generate data which can in turn be used to make generalizations about a larger population.

Blog #9-Which biome would you most like to visit? Why?

I think the best biome to visit would be the tropical forest. It's completely natural and green.
The Amazon Rainforest covers over a billion acres, in Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and the Eastern Andean region of Ecuador and Peru. More than half of the world's estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects live in the tropical rainforests. One-fifth of the world's fresh water is in the Amazon Basin. At least 80% of the developed world's diet originated in the tropical rainforest. Its bountiful gifts to the world include fruits like avocados, coconuts, figs, oranges, lemons, grapefruit, bananas, guavas, pineapples, mangos and tomatoes; vegetables including corn, potatoes, rice, winter squash and yams; spices like black pepper, cayenne, chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, sugar cane, tumeric, coffee and vanilla and nuts including Brazil nuts and cashews. At least 3000 fruits are found in the rainforests; of these only 200 are now in use in the Western World. The Indians of the rainforest use over 2,000.The beauty, majesty, and timelessness of a primary rainforest are indescribable. It is impossible to capture on film, to describe in words, or to explain to those who have never had the awe-inspiring experience of standing in the heart of a primary rainforest.

Blog 8-Should re-wilding species be keystone species? How could re-wilding be made successful?

Re-wilding species is a large-scale conservation aimed at restoring and protecting core wilderness areas, providing connectivity between such areas, and protecting or reintroducing apex predators and keystone species.
A keystone species is a species that has a disproportionate effect on its environment relative to its biomass

In 2000 John Varty started  the Bengal tiger re-wilding project. This project involves training captive-bred Bengal tiger cubs by their human trainers so that the tigers can regain their predatory instincts. Once they prove that they can sustain themselves in the wild, they would be released into the wilderness of Africa to fend for themselves. Their trainers, John Varty and Dave Salmoni (big-cat trainer and zoologist), have to teach them how to stalk, to hunt, and, most importantly, to associate hunting with food.

Blog #7-What surprised you most about the waste we create over a lifetime?-Blog #7

There was sooooooooooooooo much trash.
I can't believe that the average American produces about 4.6 pounds of solid trash a day, which is 1,460 lbs. of trash a year per person.
Every day people get rid of billions of tons of trash.  The garbage mainly comes from industry, but it also comes from homes, apartments and schools.
compared to the population of the United States, you will see that as a country, they get rid of about 210 million tons of trash every year. Schools, hospitals, businesses and government agencies also produce a lot of garbage.
